Peter Perll, MD, FACS earned his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and completed an internship as well as his residency in general surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He is board certified in general surgery. His professional interests include minimally invasive laproscopic surgeries, colon and breast cancer surgeries, hernia surgeries, as well as endoscopy services.
As a General Surgeon, Dr. Peter Perll wants patients to know they don’t have to travel miles away from home for their care. “I want my patients to feel that they came here and got great care. That’s what it’s all about. I want them to feel comfortable telling their friends and neighbors they don’t need to go 80 or 100 miles away. It’s right here. “ Dr. Peter Perll serves the Carthage and Keokuk communities. Growing up in Kansas City, Dr. Peter Perll knew his future career would be in medicine. His parents were both physicians, and he was inspired to follow in their footsteps. “My dad was an orthopedist. My mom started as an OB/GYN and later became a child psychiatrist. I didn’t know anything but medicine because it was in the family. I love general surgery. There’s nothing better than taking care of people.” Dr. Peter Perll is a board-certified surgeon. He completed his training in 1995 and has been a practicing surgeon in Mexico, Missouri since that time. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and his medical degree from Creighton University Medical School. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Outside of seeing patients, he enjoys spending time hunting and fishing. He and his wife have five children.
