Memorial Hospital is excited to announce George Brummell, PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified), has joined the Memorial Hospital team. George specializes in Mental Health and has started seeing patients at the Memorial Medical Building at 1450 North County Road 2050, Carthage, Illinois.
George earned his Associate of Science in Nursing from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Blessing-Reimen College of Nursing, also in Quincy, Illinois. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing and his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. George is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for the lifespan. George began his career as a Mental Health Registered Nurse in 2017 and has continued to support and serve individuals throughout their lifespan with their mental health and substance use needs.
George’s goal is to advocate for patients who struggle to feel heard, seen, or respected and to manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attending to holistic care. He is passionate about reaching patients in disadvantaged communities and believes in a treatment team approach, utilizing medication and psychotherapy to drive efficacy and positive treatment outcomes.
George is married to his wife Lindsay and has two children and a baby girl on the way that will arrive in late May. His hobbies include hiking and hunting outdoors; he has also filmed hunts for the outdoor industry for eight years. He also enjoys fitness and weight training.
