ILLINI WEST INTERNATIONAL CLUB EXPLORES SOUTHERN U.S. FLAVORS AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL’S TEACHING KITCHEN
October 1, 2024 Memorial Hospital

Members of Illini West High School’s International Club gather in Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Teaching Kitchen, where they highlighted Southern U.S. cuisine this September during their fourth visit to the kitchen. Under the guidance of Certified Exercise Physiologist and Registered Dietitian Kara Andrew and Chef Amber Clark, students learned about the health benefits and history of greens, beans, and cornbread. Previously, the club explored culinary traditions from Spain, Korea, and India, broadening their palates and cooking skills.
