Memorial Hospital Hosts Fall Cooking Class Focused on Diabetes

Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Teaching Kitchen is excited to announce the Fall Edition of Balanced Bites: Cooking for Diabetes. This event promotes diabetes wellness through healthy cooking. The class will take place on October 30, 2024, at 10:30 AM, located at 1454 N. Co. Rd. 2050, Carthage, IL in the Health & Wellness Center at Memorial Hospital.

Led by Kayce Fuhrman, Registered Nurse, and Ashlyn Housewright, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, participants will learn how to prepare delicious, diabetes-friendly meals. For the low cost of $25, attendees will enjoy a healthy lunch, gain valuable insights into diabetes wellness, receive meal preparation strategies, and take home recipes perfect for the fall season. Additionally, there will be exciting giveaways!

“Balanced Bites is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with diabetes to learn about nutritious cooking and how to manage their condition effectively,” said Ashlyn Housewright. “Our goal is to empower people with the knowledge and skills they need to lead a healthier lifestyle.”
