Job Summary: Assists the Physical Therapist with rehabilitative activities to help reduce pain and improve mobility.  Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Assists the Physical Therapist in the evaluation and assessment of the needs of referred patients and helps in formulating treatment plans.  Provides therapy services in accordance with a defined written treatment plan.  Within level of experience and training, plans and implements medically prescribed specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practice of physical therapy. Primary Job Responsibilities:
  1. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, evaluates patients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional abilities test.
  2. Assist in the treatment of patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means.
  3. From observation, document, to the physician, case manager or adjuster, the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition.
  4. Instruct patient in care and use of durable medical equipment, exercise equipment, prosthetic and/or orthotic devises.
  5. Provide instructions regarding the patient’s care and total therapy program with the patient’s family and/or friends as directed by the patient.
  6. Prepare and dictates evaluations, progress notes, plan of care, and discharge summaries in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
  7. Review, sign and date all documentation within company policy and guidelines.
  8. Demonstrates continued development/improvement of skills through:
    • Formal or Self-education
    • Seminars/Workshops
    • Professional Memberships
    • Reading/Reference Material
  1. Through delegation of Physical Therapist assists in the supervision of Physical Therapy Aides.
  1. Will participate in weekly case conference with the Physical Therapists to discuss the patient’s progress, update treatment and goals as appropriate, and establish a discharge plan. Minimum of at least every 30-calendar days.

  1. Requires an associate’s degree from an accredited program
  2. Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  3. Licensed and registered in the state to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant

Department Cardiopulmonary Hours 12-hour shifts 2 to 3 nights per week. Need to have a set schedule but nights are flexible. Qualifications The candidate must be able to prepare the patient and perform the testing per protocols. The candidate must be a certified or Registered Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Description
  • Two-bed sleep lab that performs diagnostic and titration studies.
  • New lab with state-of-the-art equipment from Natu's sleep system and Respironics, Alice night one, HST. Knowledge in Natus a plus but not necessary, will train.
  • Scoring test is not a must but would be very beneficial.
