On Saturday, February 1, the 30th Annual Family Fair, hosted by Memorial Hospital, Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois, Carthage Public Library, and the Hancock County Health Department, brought many families together for a day of learning and fun.
This year’s theme, “Reach for the Stars – The Sky is the Limit,” inspired an engaging and educational event for families across the surrounding communities. The event had a fantastic turnout with over 250 attendees and over 30 exhibitors providing resources, activities, and interactive experiences for all attendees. Special guests included Celebration School of Dance, who gave an exciting performance, Mike Nobis from the Quincy Astronomy Club who shared his expertise on the wonders of the night sky, Nauvoo Public Library brought a star lab, and a special appearance by Astronaut “Cosmolitta” who gave all the children an astronaut name and passed out moon jewels.
Organizers are excited to announce that the 31st Annual Family Fair will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with the theme “Outer This World,” promising to be another engaging experience for families filled with exciting exhibitors, hands-on activities, and community connections. The location for the event is to be determined.
