According to Becker’s Review, a leading healthcare publication, Memorial Hospital is proud to announce its exceptional recognition as one of the top 464 hospitals in the United States that patients would highly recommend. This prestigious recognition is based on data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and places Memorial Hospital in an elite category of healthcare providers nationwide.
Becker’s Review compiled the list using data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys, which assess patient experiences across the country. Among more than 5,000 hospitals in the U.S., Memorial Hospital is one of only 11 hospitals in Illinois to receive this distinction, underscoring its commitment to exceptional patient care. Fewer than 10% of hospitals nationwide made the list, highlighting the exclusivity of this recognition.
CMS evaluates hospitals using 10 HCAHPS star ratings, one of which is the patient’s response to the critical question: “Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?” To qualify for a star rating, hospitals must collect at least 100 completed HCAHPS surveys in a fourth-quarter period. Memorial Hospital’s inclusion on this list reflects outstanding feedback from patients who received care during the 2023 calendar year.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized by Becker’s Review and CMS for our commitment to patient satisfaction and high-quality care,” said Shelly Hunter, Director of Inpatient Services at Memorial Hospital. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and compassion of our entire healthcare team, who work tirelessly to provide an exceptional experience for every patient.”
