Position Overview:

As a nursing intern at Memorial Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced nursing team in various clinical settings, assisting with patient care allowing you to apply the knowledge gained in your academic program while gaining practical experience in a healthcare setting.

Schedule Details
Department: MedSurg, Surgery, or Emergency
Timeframe: 6 Weeks
Hours: 36-40 Hours Per Week

Qualifications

  • If attending a 4 BSN program, must be between Junior and Senior year of nursing program.
  • If attending an ADN program, must be between LPN and RN year of nursing program.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

  1. Heavy lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds or more.
  2. Frequent or prolonged standing/walking.
  3. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
  4. Manual dexterity and mobility.
  5. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  6. Visual acuity; must be able to see clearly at a distance of 20 inches or less; able to judge distance and space relationships and be able to adjust vision to bring objects into focus. Must have color vision.
  7. Ability to perform job functions utilizing personal protective equipment.
  8. Regular exposure to the risk of blood-born diseases and infections.
  9. Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical power equipment.
